Last updated: June 2026

Purpose

This policy sets out how Peak Commercial uses artificial intelligence tools, the safeguards we apply, and the commitments our clients can rely on. We publish it because our work involves confidential commercial information, contractual entitlement and professional judgement, and our clients are entitled to know exactly where AI does and does not feature in that work.

Our position

We use AI tools where they make our work faster or more thorough without compromising confidentiality, accuracy or professional accountability. AI assists our work; it does not perform it. Every deliverable we issue is produced under the direction of, reviewed by, and owned by a qualified professional, and our professional opinions, valuations and contractual assessments are human judgements.

How we use AI

AI tools may assist with tasks such as overview of routine documents, summarising lengthy material, research, and analysis of data we are entitled to process. They are aids to efficiency, used under human direction and subject to the controls below.

Our controls

Confidentiality. We do not enter client confidential information, commercially sensitive project data or personal data into public or consumer AI tools whose terms allow that information to be retained or used for training. Where AI tools process client material, they are used under terms that protect confidentiality and restrict use of the data, consistent with our engagement terms and UK data protection law.

Accuracy and verification. AI-generated output is never relied upon unverified. Facts, figures, citations and contractual references in our deliverables are checked by a qualified member of the team against source material before issue. We treat unverified AI output as a draft, not an answer.

Professional accountability. Responsibility for our work cannot be delegated to a tool. Every engagement has a named professional accountable for its deliverables, and our advice carries the same professional duty of care however it was prepared.

Transparency. If a client asks whether and how AI was used in their engagement, we will tell them plainly. Where an engagement requires that AI is not used, or is used only in defined ways, we will agree and observe those terms.

Data protection. Our use of AI complies with UK data protection law and our Privacy Policy. We do not use AI for automated decision-making about individuals.

Review

The directors are responsible for this policy. We review it at least annually, and sooner where the tools, the law or professional guidance change.
