Peak Commercial administers construction contracts so that notices, payments, programme and records are right, on time and evidenced. We are specialists in the NEC family, where administration is not paperwork but the mechanism that decides who carries each risk, and both of our principals are accredited NEC4 ECC Project Managers.
NEC contracts are administered in real time or not at all. Early warnings, compensation event notifications, programme submissions and payment assessments all run on defined timescales, and the contract is unforgiving of parties who treat them as optional. Most of the disputes we are brought into later began as administration that slipped months earlier: the notice not served, the programme not updated, the assessment not challenged in time.
We run that machinery properly. That can mean acting as the commercial backbone of your project team, setting up the administration systems at contract start so they work from day one, or auditing a live contract to find where the position has quietly eroded and what can still be recovered.
Our principals have built this from the centre of multi-partner alliances, establishing the processes for payment, cost forecasting, earned value, audit and contract administration that an entire alliance then ran on. We bring the same discipline to a single subcontract. The scale changes; the mechanism does not.
We work across NEC3 and NEC4, JCT, FIDIC and bespoke forms, including drafting project-specific amendments, so the administration matches the contract you actually signed rather than the one everyone assumes they signed.
Our principals have established and led the payment, forecasting, earned value, audit and contract administration processes used across a multi-partner alliance on one of the UK's largest highways programmes, and have run NEC administration on water framework schemes from ECI through to final account. Both are accredited NEC4 ECC Project Managers (NEC Registered).
